Thousands of jobs await Filipino workers in Kurdistan - NEWS
With the booming of economy of Kurdistan (Iraq), there is a significant increase in demand for Filipino workers at different industries.
Many local recruiters aimed for complete deployment conditions in Iraq which would open gate for overseas Filipino workers.
Kurdistan is currently employing manpower for engineer, technician and other related profession.
“Not only is Iraqi Kurdistan the most developed and relatively peaceful region in Iraq, it is also on its way to becoming an investment destination” said Emmanuel Geslani.
Geslani is advocating for lifting of deployment ban in Iraq and Afghanistan. He is recommending Filipino workers to be recruited in Iraq once again.
Rafael Seguis, the Foreign Secretary also met with Minister Falah Mustafa Bakir to discuss the employment and work scenario in Iraq.
Geslani told there were about 7,000 undocumented OFWs in Kurdistan who were waiting for lifting up of this deployment ban so that they can go home.
Most of the OFWs are working since 2005 under infrastructure, oil and petroleum, telecom and hotel industries.
